Name: Endymion AKA: Mamoru Chiba Position: King of the Earth Kingdom, consort to Neo-Queen Serenity Int. Rank: Blue Pow. Rank: Indigo Eyes: Brown Hair: Brown Height: 1.83 m Weight: 80 kg Gifted: Yes Physical Description: Endymion is a somewhat slender, tall, handsome man who has a force of presence that makes him seem much taller. He tends to wear the ceremonial armour of the King of Earth, which seems to be little more than a cape, a jacket, pants, and boots of a light grey colour. The clothing is of a vaguely military cut, but is unadorned aside for some black piping and some useless silvery shoulder guards. Notes: Endymion was born in the era before Second Impact. At that time, he met and began his relationship with his wife Serenity. During the events of Second Impact he fell into a coma, caused by the massive damage to the Earth's biosphere by the events. Following the restoration of the world after Third Impact, he awoke from his slumber. While his wife set about creating Crystal Tokyo, he set about bringing the rampant nations of Earth to heel. Endymion did this through liberal application of his particular powers as a Gifted. He is one of the most powerful Gifted known to humanity, albeit one who is extremely limited in scope - Endymion is tightly linked to the planet Earth. He can control earthquakes at will in whatever region he wishes, detect places of "sickness" - primarily places of pollution, he can control storms, and even has some influence over the biosystems in a region. As long as he is on the planet Earth, he is an nigh-unstoppable force. His only weakness is his link to the planet - grievous damage to the general ecosystem can send him into a coma until it begins a path to recovery (which takes less time than many would expect), but only a total NBC attack that sterilizes the world can kill him. [CJA: Not true. Any projectile made from a material not found on Earth can kill him. Odd variant on Balder's invulerability, that. Sorry, Endymion, but it's true and you should know.] Using his powers, he disrupted most of the super-powers ability to make nuclear war, and with the help of the Senshi he proceeded to eliminate their abilities to make conventional war besides. After several decades of futile attacks on Neo-Tokyo, himself, his wife, their friends, and even his favorite tree, he made it very clear that he was not going to die, and he was not going to go away, and he was in control. As worldwide tyrants go, Endymion's rule cannot be characterized as anything but benevolent. His rules for the nations of Earth were very simple - nothing that hurts the planet, no major human rights violations, a worldwide agenda of improving mankind's lot. Each nation was allowed to manage its own affairs, as long as it followed his guidelines. Within a generation, the grumbling had more or less ceased, and people began to realize that despite the previous generation's grumbling about tyrany and freedom, their lot was a lot better than their parents, and they had a lot more liberty as well. Through the centuries of rule, Endymion has seen many of the problems of humanity have lessened, if not been eliminated. Humanity has expanded into the stars, and become a part of the community at large. They have risen to become a trading partner of almost every race in the quadrant, and through their own ways have facilitated an interracial dialogue that has never been seen before. Endymion is a generally calm, easygoing man. He generally speaks little, counting on his reputation, force of presence, and wisdom to carry the same message a plethora of words would. He is a man who has lived a long life and feels the weight of his years in his soul, if not on his body. He realizes that he has brought humanity through much of its childhood, and that Humanity is on the cusp of a new phase, one which he does not feel able to see them through. He is now focussed on his son (see entry) and training him to come after him. Endymion resides in Crystal Tokyo with his family, but spends much of his time at the Interplanetary Humanity Assembly on the Mir IV station.
